“Temporary Love” is an amalgamation of sultry and sweet vocals melding together to create a soulful track that’s putting LISE at the forefront of Toronto’s R&B scene.
Ranging from Jill Scott and Musiq Soulchild to Erykah Badu, Mississauga-born, Brampton-based artist LISE is proving to be a real powerhouse in the Toronto R&B scene as she continues to captivate her listeners through her brilliant songwriting skills and melodious music.
Her new single “Temporary Love” draws upon her passion for neo-soul music, and is a laid-back, groovy track that may have you reminiscing on past lovers and late night romances. The neo-soul vibe defines itself in the track by ornamentations of echoing saxophones, soft flutes and an electric piano that adds to the catchy riff throughout the track.
The sensual and jazzy bassline adds a depth of musical complexity and layers of smoothness. The sharp snare, punchy bass, and syncopated hi-hats in the instrumentation provides an atmosphere to support her super sultry vocals, which float seamlessly above the melodic piano chords.
LISE’s silky tones and layered harmonies narrate her encounter with a lover she had met in paradise. This mutual interest they share leads them to develop an unforgettable intimate relationship on the trip. She then makes her lover aware that after this week of bliss, she will be leaving him behind though it seems that he would prefer a long distance commitment as she sings “I got to be honest babe, this is a temporary love babe / you know what this was / I don’t want nothing serious.”
R&B singer / songwriter LISE releases “Temporary Love” as the fourth track written, recorded and dropped during quarantine, following the release of her singles “I Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind,” “Open Your Heart,” and “Escape” that allowed her to explore and showcase a variety of unique R&B sounds and styles. LISE is definitely a rising star in the making!
